Let's Hear it for Teachers: Dec. 12
Not long ago, we answered a knock at our front door to find a former student of Jack's named Joe Toto standing there. He'd come, we learned, to bring Jack a copy of his new novel titled "The Point of Impact," in which he'd mentioned Jack in the acknowledgements. He'd been a student way back when Jack "worked" for me teaching a summer class on creative writing for gifted kids at the Kent State Trumbull Campus; later, he was one of Jack's English students at Niles McKinley High School. Ironically, one of Joe's children is now in a class taught by our daughter, Chris, who teaches language arts at the middle school across the street from our house. Since I'm about halfway through the book, I decided to make it today's One-a-Day Photo group entry.
