Manteo, known by most as home to TV and movie star Andy Griffith, is a favorite stop. Our primary interest, though, is the Roanoke Marshes lighthouse, a replica of another that no longer exists. On the way back, we stopped for an early dinner at Basnight's Lone Cedar Cafe, where we found Ricky and Lucy, the resident osprey. They occupy a nest just a few feet from the restaurant's balcony. Looked as if they have three babies this year!
