OK, it's butt-ugly and has, as far as I know, little value. But it was a favorite of my mother and one of the things she displayed in every home she and dad lived in ever since I can remember, and when she died, dad took it to his assisted living apartment. It's also one of the few things I took as a keepsake when he died, and it's occupied a prominent spot in the 3 houses I've lived in since then. It just got placed in the dining room hutch - my photo for today.
