The colors of this fabric aren't true (took this in artificial light), but this is the fabric I got for the valance "ruffles" in the new dining room. The background is a mottled tan-ish gray and the leaves are dark gray. The walls will be very pale yellow and the tile is a sort of speckled gray. That carries over to the kitchen, where all the appliances are black.

The backstory is that I've had sticker shock at the price of valances - the cheapest I've found are about $15 (and nothing I really wanted). I need four, so I was looking at a minimum of $60. No way, Jose, I said - and off we went to Jo-Ann Fabrics. Got all I need plus enough to cover two throw pillows for just under $24. No hurry to make them - they'll be one of the last things we'll do after we actually move in.
