Grape of Wrath: Sept. 9

There's a story behind this one, so bear with me. A couple of days ago, we went to White House Fruit Farm to stock up on a few things. I was in a hurry, and seeing containers of delicious-looking blueberries on a table near the entrance, I grabbed one, threw it in the buggy and took off. Back at home that night, Jack fixed himself a bowl of strawberries and a few blueberries - and promptly spit out the blueberry. It was crunchy, he told me.

Well, turns out there's a good reason - and a good reason the blueberries were so plump. They're small grapes! Having no logical way to use them, I figured the birds and other backyard critters would eat them and tossed them in the yard. A single berry landed on a deck board, so I'm using it as today's photo to illustrate my frustrating story.
