On Aug. 5, 2009, just about the entire family got together in Port Clinton, Ohio, for the roughly 20-minute jaunt across Lake Erie to South Bass Island and the resort town of Put-in-Bay. Besides Jack and me were Lilla and our son Scott (her fiance), daughter Chris and her husband Jerry.
