On Sept. 9, 2012, my husband Jack and I left for a four-day trek that primarily would take us along Lake Erie in Pennsylvania and New York. The first day was spent in Erie, Pa., and Dunkirk, N.Y., where we spent the first night. Then it was on to Niagara Falls, N.Y., for two nights. Our trip home was away from the lake to spend our last night in Tionesta, Pa., in the heart of the Allegheny National Forest. Besides the awesome Niagara Falls, our travels included several lighthouses (one new to us), some wineries, botanical gardens and much more. This gallery highlights our trip from start to finish - the weather, by the way, couldn't have been more perfect (bright sunshine, puffy clouds and comfortable temperatures the entire time). Enjoy!
