Well, sometimes best-laid plans turn out okay in the overall scheme of things. In a hurry to get the bed made and go out for a walk on this beautiful day, I banged my pinky toe on a bed post. Figured I'd try to walk anyway, but not an option; it's just too fat at the moment to fit comfortably in shoes. Got as far as the next-door neighbor's yard and hoped I could limp back home (taking this street sign as a symbol of my slowness). But guess what? Within a few minutes of getting back in the house, I learned that it's official: WE HAVE A NEW PRESIDENT! I almost cried with relief - and thank you, pinky toe, for allowing me not to miss the excitement!
