Woke up this morning to at least two inches of fresh, powdery snow, so I braved the 17-degree temperature and ventured to the front porch (still in pajamas, by the way) to snap this scene across the street. The light pole in the background is one of a series that marks the entrance to the Niles Middle School, where our daughter Christine teaches language arts. Should she want to come "home" for lunch, she doesn't have far to go!
