The historic Bodie Island Lighthouse is undergoing extensive repair; completion is expected by next summer, and the following year, it should be open to the pubic for climbing for the first time in many years. We arrived at the North Carolina Outer Banks early this morning and this was our first stop to see how she looks covered in scaffolding. They've also created a new walkway and observation deck at the Bodie Island Wetlands out behind the lighthouse.
