Today we headed across the Pennsylvania line and stopped first at the Buhl Mansion in downtown Sharon -- originally a "castle" home built by Frank H. Buhl for his wife, Julia. Buhl is the founder of the Sharon Steel Corp. Construction was completed in 1896 at a total cost of $60,000. Restored by a local businessman and his wife, the castle is now an award-winning inn and spa and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
