Memories: April 26

Trying to get ready for a 6-day trip at the end of this week, so no chance to run out to get a photo for the One-a-Day group today. So, I collected some memories: One of the teacups and saucers from the set of china I inherited from my late mother. The pattern is Autumn Leaf, which was made exclusive to the Jewel Tea Co. in 1933 by the Hall China Co. of East Liverpool, Ohio. I can still picture my mother (sometime around the mid- 1940s) choosing the piece she wanted to add to her collection when the "Jewel Tea man" came to the door each week. All told, she ended up with a service for 12 and quite a number of accessory serving pieces like a water pitcher and coffee percolator.
