There's a story behind today's photo of the day: I'm doing a field test of a bird-seed product that claims to deter squirrels with an oily taste the critters don't like -- but the birds are okay with it. Just put it in the feeder, they said, and squirrels won't like it and will stay off the feeder. Wrong! The amount of food that's gone from the top of the feeder was eaten by a very fat rodent that managed to hang upside down on the feeder for at least 20 minutes. Clearly, the manufacturer didn't count on the appetite of Ohio squirrels!
