Nostalgia: Sept. 3

Taking a break from football, we discovered that the Lawrence Welk Show (on our local PBS station) tonight was the very first public broadcast of the show on July 2, 1955. If I remember correctly, my Dad had brought home our first TV set about a year earlier. I couldn't resist taking an awful snapshot of my favorite Welk star, accordionist Myron Floren, as he played the "Clarinet Polka" -- one of my favorites to play on my own stomach Steinway -- for today's photo of the day.
