Buhl Mansion: April 15
Maybe it's because we mailed our income tax forms this morning, but when Jack suggested going to Sharon, Pa., to Reyer's Shoe Store (billed as the "World's Largest Shoe Store") to look for some summer sandals that won't bump the incision on his ankle, I immediately thought of how the "other half" lives. Just down the main street from Reyers is an example of that, the Buhl Mansion Guesthouse & Spa. Built by steel magnate Frank H. Buhl, the mansion had become an eyesore slated for demolition till it was purchased by a local couple and restored to become an award-winning inn that's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. What do you think? Is it a great one-a-day photo or what?
