This afternoon, granddaughter Jackie collected on my Christmas gift promise of $20 to spend at the Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Austintown. Starting with $20 each, Jackie went through nearly $10 of it at the same time I "won" 40 cents. Since she wanted a pair of earrings in the gift shop ($10 a pair and fabulous), we cashed in and headed there. Then it was off to Quaker Steak and Lube for a drink (me) and tacos (her). Wonderful time except for the long wait because the Lube's POS system crashed, but next year I think we'll head straight for the bar.
