Celebrate: March 18

Had a great St. Patrick's Day, as usual - starting off around noon at Up A Creek Tavern in Howland for entertainment (see the bagpiper at right), beer and one of the best-anywhere reuben sandwiches. Then it was out to Quaker Steak and Lube in Austintown for another beer (a green one this time, which was amazingly unflat). Back home, we sat in a too-stuffed stupor until just after 6 p.m., when we picked up friends Jerry and Barb and headed for Gasoline Alley in Niles for, yes, another beer and yes, more food. All in all, a wonderful day - and we were absolutely amazed at the lack of a crowd. It's a Tuesday during the day, of course, but even then none of the places we stopped was all that crowded.
