I'm going to consider it a good omen to start the new year, but I managed to get a shot (albeit handheld and through our living room window) of the good-sized hawk that's taken to a tree in our neighbor's yard across the street. The quality isn't great, but hey - a hawk isn't an everyday happening for me so I'm happy!
