Squalling: Jan. 29

Most of today was quite sunny, but toward late afternoon the sky started to get dark. As I was watching the U.S. Figure Skating championships, the wind suddenly started to howl, nearly bending the trees over and making me wonder if the roof was next. Within a period of 10 minutes - one skater finished his routine and half of a second performance - this was the scene in the front yard. Close to an inch of snow hit the ground in that short time. I've seen some strange weather, but in all my years I've never seen anything quite like this!
