For Christmas, my big gift from my husband Jack was a Canon PowerShot SD 4500 IS camera. Smaller than the wonderful PowerShot G10 I inherited from Jack when he got his even-more-wonderful G12, I needed something that will fit in my purse or a pocket to carry wherever I go. It replaces a very old Sony Cybershot that still works, but not all that well. On New Year's Day, when the temps were hovering around 50 degrees, I stepped out on the back deck to try out the 4500's macro mode on some small leaves the wind and rain hadn't yet knocked off.
