A rare cooking day for me: Jack asked when I might make meatloaf next (a hint that was, fortunately, asked last night so I could put the meat in the fridge to thaw). That, and mushroom gravy, are put together and the meatloaf is in the oven. Meantime, faced with a box of blueberries I knew we'd never eat before they went bad, I conjured up a fruit cobbler. It came out of the oven 15 minutes ago and has been declared very good. Before I put it in, the weather was so nice outside - 15 degrees when I woke up this morning but close to 40 now and sunny - that I ventured out for a short walk. My reward? A gin and tonic with fresh lime and the Three Olives vodka I got for Christmas. Sorry about another clouds photo, but it is what it is. Tonight will be another really, really cold one.
