After the Storm: Feb. 16

Well, it was the storm that never was. weather gurus were predicting as much as a foot of snow would fall yesterday afternoon and overnight; but as yesterday's late-afternoon photo shows (at right), we didn't get much more than a dusting. Still, they pushed on; now, they said, we'd probably get up to 6 inches overnight. By the time we went to bed, most of the schools had closed, but the snow forecast had changed to mostly freezing drizzle. That did happen - the roads were a sheet of ice for several hours - but as this photo shows - taken about the same time of day as yesterday's - the snow was negligible.
