Nice long walk this morning - almost 50 degrees outside (got a snap of a favorite tree done up in black-and-white). Out for a late lunch with friends Jerry and Barb, then back home for the rest of the evening. My sweetie made a run to the state store and came home with - wait for it - four small bottles of Asti Spumonte! We can continue the longstanding tradition of drinking a bubbly when the ball drops (assuming we're not both asleep, he in his recliner and me on "my" sofa). Right now, I'm sipping an amaretto and cream from one of the crystal glasses our friend Pete's parents gave us for our 25th anniversary. Our bubbly will be sipped from flutes one of my college roommates got us for that same anniversary when we had a party in Columbus with friends. Another year down - cheers!
